They're an excellent way to start the day. And to maintain your body operating at peak performance for the next 23 hours and 50 minutes.

Healthy Breakfast Tips While Living in PGs

When you're short on time, try one of these quick breakfast recipes:

Peanut Butter and Banana Toast

You just feel lethargic some days. You're not in the mood to try anything new. And all you want is for the hunger sensations to stop. You can't go wrong with peanut butter and banana toast on those days. How can you, for example? There are only three ingredients in this dish. And they're all right there in the name!

Sandwich

We're not talking about a cheese slice sandwiched between two slices of bread here, so don't get too enthusiastic. This quick dish is everything a sandwich should be: delicious, healthy, inexpensive, and, of course, simple. Simply substitute multigrain or whole wheat bread for your regular white bread. Veggies, boiling chicken, and boiling eggs are other good additions. It's a good approach to ensure that you obtain all of your nutrients. And there's one more.

Bread Upma

This variant of the classic South Indian Upma is gaining popularity in tiffin establishments all throughout South India. To prepare this at home, briefly toast the bread to make it crunchy, then cut it into cubes. Toss in the tomatoes, green chiles, onion, and garlic to taste. That's it - a new way to enjoy basic, uninteresting bread.

Fruit Salad and Yogurt

If you're trying to lose weight, avoid the flavoured varieties with additional sugar. Get some plain Greek yoghurt that's low in fat. Add bananas, apple slices, blueberries, and chia seeds to the mix. You can even add some cornflakes or granola to it if you've had a hard day. The nicest aspect about this dish is that it can be customised in a variety of ways. As a result, eating healthy does not become monotonous.

Sprouts Salad

This nutritious breakfast idea would be familiar to many of our gym brothers. Soak some sprouts in water overnight. You can boil them if you want, but why make things more difficult? Mix in some vegetables and lemon juice, as well as some pomegranate seeds, and eat it as you work. Alternatively, binge-watching a series. Thankfully, eating a lot of sprouts isn't bad for you.

Avocado Toast

It may sound a little strange at first, but bear with us. Avocados that are ripe, salt & pepper, and bread For this super-easy breakfast meal, that's all you'll need. Simply place the fruit in a basin. Season with salt, pepper, or any other dressing you choose. Mix it up till it hurts your hand. After that, toast some bread and spread it with the mixture.

Oats

A bowl of oats has to be mentioned while discussing quick dishes. Whether it's a milk-based porridge (avoid the sugary instant oats though). Alternatively, a savoury oats-and-green-vegetables platter. For hours, you'll be satisfied. And maybe, before lunch, I won't grab for a packet of cookies.

Egg Bhurji

This recipe is a must-try if you don't like the western version but can't live without the protein found in eggs. Add a few slices of tomatoes, onions, and green chilies along with some cumin seeds and oil. Then there's the matter of the eggs. In a matter of minutes, you've gone from Gordon Ramsay's scrambled eggs to Jaikishan Egg Corner's egg bhurji.

Poha

Poha is a nutritious and flavorful breakfast that is simple to prepare. The protein and fibre content of this Maharashtrian speciality is exceptional. You may also add some chiles and peanuts for added crunch. It takes less than 10 minutes to prepare and will become your morning companion. Especially if those additional calories are tearing up your long-term relationship.
